Give Jesus Praise!
by PamFord Davis

I am an avid fan of movies from the 1940's & 1950's. "Penny Serenade," a 1941 Christmas tearjerker, starred Cary Grant and Irene Dunne. To make a long movie short, I summarize the plot. They were childless, adopted a baby girl and she became the light of their lives.

At an early age, she had a role as the angel in her school's Christmas program. Tragically, she became gravely ill immediately after taking part, and lost the battle to live. Her parents were devastated. Their darling had a small part in a play but a lasting impact on their lives.

"The children were shouting, 'Praise to the Son of David.' All this made the priests and the teachers of the law angry. They asked Jesus, 'Do you hear what these children are saying?' He answered, 'Yes, The Scriptures say,' 'You have taught children and babies to give praise (Matthew 21:15b-16a)." This Christmas, follow the example of children; give Jesus praise!
