I'm Good
by PamFord Davis

Slang fascinates me; I wonder who starts a trend. Two popular terms come to mind: "Not!" and "I'm good." I can see the reasoning behind the first. As an example: "I won the Pulitzer Prize. Not!" The latter is a puzzle. Someone offers a person something, such as a glass of iced tea and gets the "I'm good" response. Instead of a courteous reply of "Yes, thanks, or No, thank you," the answer voiced is "I'm good."

I'm guessing, it implies that all is "good" in the area of their absence of thirst. I'll give my opinion. "Whatever!" On the serious side, am I good? Preschoolers in childlike faith thank God for their food with a simple prayer, beginning with "God is good." There is wisdom in those words. "O GIVE thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever (Psalm 136:1 Amplified)." I'm blessed; God is good!
