The Lord Provides The Rain

This has been the most drastic drought situation in the history of our state of California. We have seen fifty-seven days without rain of any type, even a mist. Our lakes and the irrigation backup lakes are nearly dry with no rain in the forecast. So we as Christians what do we do to help our fellow men? We pray and pray and look to the Lord for his mercy.

We see in the Bible, my favorite verse for the Lord's guidance and protection, Math. 21-22, " And in all things whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." The newspapers and on TV, tell of Christians praying for rain and everyone sets back and waits, thinking it is a waste of time, The first storms arrive off the California ocean shore and and are diverted north to areas with plenty of rain. Then a few small storms come on shore and are a drizzle not even measurable. But Christians keep on praying and believing what the Bible tells us that he will provide our needs. The politicians, at all levels, say they will pass laws that will help solve the rain problem. Put we know that only our God can provide our needs in times of trials and tribulations.

Every Wednesday night, our small country church prays for the Lord, if it is his will, to help us farmers. We reduce our livestock herds and feed high cost hay to our cattle and sheep. We pray and praise the Lord daily for all the blessings he has give us in the past and pray he will in the future.

Then the newscaster tells us he sees, off on the horizon, a sizeable storm heading our way, To everyone's surprise it is followed by storm after storm all lined up in a narrow corridor all hitting the west coast of dry California. Talk about rain; it came down for several days and the farm ditches were filled, the cattle received a long awaited bath, some roads were flooded, and the lakes added water. The storm was called --"The Hawaiian Tropical Express". TV reporters broke in hourly on their stations, with storm warnings, snow fall in the mountains, and the heavy rain totals.

Yes, God answered our prayers, not with normal type storms, but he answered our prayers with exceptionally large storms so we could see how great our gracious and loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is. No one will ever tell me that our living Lord does not take care of his children. He is our best friend and we all should Praise him everyday.

Trust we will all be in the church of our choice this Sunday, praising and thanking our Lord Jesus Christ for his loving care and protection.

God Bless America
