Behold Him
by PamFord Davis

As one who works with words, I get emotional about article, book and song titles. The power of a single word astounds me. Quickly, take mental inventory of hymn titles revolving around the doctrine themes of salvation, grace, mercy and love. The Father forbids us from seeing him in all his glory; yet, one day we will behold him.

"I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' Moses covered his face because he was afraid to look at God (Exodus 3:6b ERV)." Moses, called by God, could not see the face of the Father. "But you cannot see my face. No one can see me and continue to live (Exodus 33:20 ERV)." Do not despair, look unto Jesus.

"Jesus answered, 'Philip, I have been with you for a long time. So you should know me. Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father too (John 14:9a ERV)." We see Jesus, by grace through faith. Once we see him personally, we humbly seek a closer relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Join me, as I walk by faith not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
