Death Wish
by PamFord Davis

If someone we know dwells on death, we sense a serious problem and see red flags rising. It's not healthy to be overly preoccupied with dying. We should pay close attention; they may be contemplating suicide.

Comments like "I wish I'd never been born" are nothing to laugh at. As Jesus hour of sacrifice drew near, He spoke often to His disciples about His death. He did not have a death wish; He was submissive to His Fathers' salvation plan and preparing His followers for His crucifixion.

".... saying, 'Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem and the Son of Man will be delivered up to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and will deliver Him up to the Gentiles. And they will mock Him and spit upon Him and scourge Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again (Mark 10:33-34 NAS)." It proved true in every detail!
