LEN'S LINES ---- A Little Religion On A Positive Note By Len Granger

Created Or Made?

When we discuss whether an item was created or if it was made we find many people saying the words have the same meaning. When we talk to the jeweler about a wedding ring, they often say. "I can create you the finest wedding ring you can ever dream about," When Mr. Ford many years ago displayed his first automobile, he said " This is the a fine automobile that I have made." He realized a car is made of many parts which he assembled included the wheels, lights, and engine which someone had previously made and he had not created.

Our dictionary says. "God the creator', and we see in the Bible the first verse; Genesis, 1:1, " In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." There is no other creator, except our God, that can make items of substance from something that has never existed .

We see also where God the original creator is a maker of things Our Lord God says in the Bible that He made man from the existing dust of the earth. Genesis 2:7, "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul." Then God from an existing man named Adam made a helpmate wife called Eve. Genesis 2:22, "And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man."

So, we can see God is the one and only creator. However, he is also a maker of things from creatures and substances our Lord God had previously created. In our history books, we are told our great scientists created the Atomic Bomb which could destroy the earth but the atom components had already existed. When in my fishing tackle business reforming the substance lead into useable fishing sinkers; I made the sinkers and did not create them. My wife and I were blessed six times over as the Lord allowed us to make six children, three boys and three girls. We knew we had made them and also had made all the trials and tribulations that raising children involves, but the Lord was there to guide and direct us as we raised our family.

Remember, God has the power to create anything that he wishes but man can only make things he may need or want from existing material. Our loving and gracious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has filled the earth with metals, heating oil and coal, and we as man have dominion over all that grows or moves on the earth or in the seas. Yes, the Lord has provided for our needs and allows us to make many things from the substances of the heaven and earth he has created.

Trust we will all be in the church of our choice this Sunday worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

God Bless America
