Sound and Texture
by PamFord Davis

It's an interesting combination of sound and texture. I shampoo your hair and work it into lather. Minutes later, I arrive at the final step in the process. Rinsing out all of the shampoo, I wait impatiently. There's no mistaking that sound and texture sensation.

It's squeaky clean!

Is it that simple to discern spiritual cleansing? I am a sinner, saved by grace. I have not arrived at sinless perfection. Tempted, I sometimes yield and am unable to remove the telltale signs the sin leaves behind. I rely on the One who is able, willing and waiting for me to 'ask' Him.

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 NKJ)." He speaks forgiveness; I sense His tender touch and feel squeaky clean.
