Trim the Branches
by Jeanie Hannah

Life is a journey
This we all know
There are those who go along with us
And those meant to let go

Some stay for a long while.
They become part of our daily life
And encourage us during times of strife.

Others are for only a short season
To be part of our testing
Or just to teach us a lesson.

God puts others in our path
It's part of his grand plan.
To help us learn and grow.

He uses each and every one
Nothing goes to waste.
No matter if we are met with hate.

Push on and cut those ones away
Get ready for the next blessing
That comes your way.

This journey is hard
And seems so long
So God put a friend at most every turn.

Sometimes we end up alone
No one to spend time with
No one to talk to.

When things get hard.
You find yourself all alone.
Don't go looking around.
Look up instead.

Call upon Abba Father.
Get into His word
And be Fed.

It's very important to listen to God.
Stay in His word
And heed His gentle nudge.
There are people who will bring us down.
Don't let anyone prevent you from receiving your crown.

God knows this hurts
But never fear.
It's during this time
He's most near.
