Frequently Forgetful
by PamFord Davis

Forgetfulness is frustrating, to say the least. How many times have I forgotten a most needed item when shopping for groceries? Names of even good friends elude me and I hope they never find out. Missing important appointments, I'm relieved to say, is not frequently a part of my forgetfulness list. Is a bad memory due to aging? Let's just say, I'm grateful that age discrimination is against the law. In some ways, maturity and being forgetful is advantageous....

The Apostle Paul said, "Not that I have already reached [the goal] or am already fully mature, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus. Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God's heavenly call in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:12-14 HCS)." His grace, I have not forgotten.
