Search For Me!
by Wanda Sewell I had just gone into ministry and was caring for a household of about 13 elderly ladies. I had been walking with the Lord for four years by that time. I had my own room as I was a live in assistant to the manager. One night after making sure everyone was settled in for the evening I was in my room and I lost an earring. I was not into wearing much jewelry so I only had one pair. I was crawling around my room on my hands and knees feeling every inch of the area where I believed I had dropped it. I was even praying hard over and over again, "O God please help me to find my earring." I kept this up for 15 or so minutes and I found it! I was so happy to get it back. Only a few minutes after I retrieved my lost earring I heard in my heart the Lord speak: "Search for Me like you did that earring!" Since that time I got an infection on my ear and had to give up wearing pierced earrings but I never forgot the lesson that God taught me that evening. In Isaiah 55:6 we read: "Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near." We all have a time in our lives where we can seek the Lord's Face. Let us rise up and do so now for time may be running short!
