Shield Our Children
by PamFord Davis

As adults, we try to shield our children and grandchildren from harm. Note, I said try. It's a big world and we cannot be at all places at all times. Sadly, there are outside forces that prey on the young and defenseless.

Even their peers can be cruel; bullying is not new but it does seem to be more widespread. Though we are unable to place visible protective shields around youngsters, we can turn to the LORD God for help.

"Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him (Proverbs 30:5 NKJ)."

The LORD cares for young and old. Through prayer, we intercede for children, asking God to protect them. Each child is a gift from Him and He has compassion for all placed in our care. The God of Hosts serves as a shield through His presence and power.
