Marriage of a Princess
by Carolyn Kenney As the bride walked gracefully down the aisle by her father's side, the groom waited patiently for her at the end of the aisle. She looked like a princess. Her eyes met those of her future husband and their smile at one another warmed the hearts of those around them. Her physical beauty was apparent, while her inner beauty spoke volumes. His physical strength was evident, while his gentleness of spirit spoke through the sparkle in his eyes. Love shone on all sides; the day was beautiful! As their love grew stronger, the couple realized that marriage was the only answer - a deep commitment and a life-long responsibility to one another. Marriage is a sacred institution in which the hearts of two people are united to become one. Deep and abiding care must remain paramount in their hearts. Life is not always full of good times and good health. It contains sorrows and sickness as well; it contains disappointment and distress. It is during these times when heartfelt concern comes to the surface. It is during these times when true love burns brightly, never to be extinguished. As a couple is united in the bond of matrimony, their smiles shine forth from the recesses of their hearts. Each day throughout their marriage, love must shine forth from the depths of their beings. The love they share is very special; it should not be taken for granted. It must be protected, nurtured and encouraged in order for them to grow while sharing a lifetime together as husband and wife. For over four years, Ms. Kenney has writen weekly articles for her church bulletin. Some of these reflections developed into a short devotional book titled "Meditations of the Heart."
