Vs1:
Great woes betide a Christless grave!
Forever a tormented slave!
Though d'tomb be with roses adorned
Yet for dying Christless, is abhorred!

Chorus:
The woes of a Christless grave!
In'd morning of the Lord's Day
No hope for resurrection
And no abode in Zion!

Vs2:
Oh, when the people of the earth
Shall bid you farewell at your death
Friend, may your soul be not Christless
For a Christless death is hopeless!

Vs3:
While now in your earthly lifetime
You treat with contempt Christ divine
Remember, He's the Prince of Life
The Only Door to'eternal Life!

Vs4:
Each time I hear of a deceased
Oh, I ask, did he die in peace?;
Did she genuinely embrace Christ?
Soul, please die not like an outcast!

Vs5:
What a fear to die without Christ!
What a shame, what an endless night!
The thought of that makes me tremble
Christless last breathe is terrible!

Vs6:
A Christless grave is bound by death
For sin is the enemy's strength!
But a Christ-filled death's like a scent
That spreads all through Heaven's estate
