Church Attracts Visitors with Bottled Water Ministry
by Greg Miller

Calvin stood at the main intersection of his hometown, fulfilling his God-called ministry.

This is an easy ministry assignment, Calvin told Pastor Carlos, the minister of the local church.

I enjoy standing at citys the busiest corner, sharing free bottles of spring water. The peoples faces really light up when they are drinking the water.

The bottles labels included a Scripture verse, John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

May I help you distribute the water next week? asked Pastor Carlos.

Certainly, replied Calvin, who distributed the water a couple of hours prior to Wednesdays evening service.

The following Wednesday, Pastor Carlos and Calvin met at their appointed destination and began sharing bottles of water.

Carl and his wife, Cynthia, asked for bottles of water. Do you mind if we also pray for you? asked Calvin.

We would appreciate that, said Cynthia. Our two-year-old daughter, Cassie, has been diagnosed with leukemia, and the doctors dont have a very good prognosis.

Calvin and Pastor Carlos prayed for Cassie, and Cynthia reported she believed God had already healed the toddler. She quoted First Peter 2:24, Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

The Holy Spirit had been dealing with Carl for several months. I asked the Lord to forgive my sins and come live in my heart many years ago, Carl said. But I feel I need to be closer to God.

Once again, Pastor Carlos and Calvin prayed with Carl and Cynthia. You have been a blessing to us, Carl said. Is it alright if we attend tonights worship service?

We always welcome visitors to our services, Calvin said.

Thats right, Pastor Carlos agreed. I must warn you, however, you are only allowed to visit the church one time.

Do you mean we can never attend another service? asked Cynthia.

You may attend every service, said Pastor Carlos. After your first service, however, youre no longer considered a visitor. Youre then part of our church family.

Carl, Cynthia and Cassie were already at the church when Calvin arrived. Cynthia was smiling from ear to ear. When we left you earlier today, we were on our way to get our SUV. My mom had told us we needed to get a smaller vehicle because we only have one child.

I said, Mom, we only have one child " so far. We believe God will give us at least four more children, and well need a vehicle big enough for all of them to ride in at one time!
