Take Deep Breaths
by PamFord Davis

I heave a sigh

Do you hear it? Do you know where a sigh comes from?

No, it might pass through lips but its source goes much deeper. When discouraged, depressed stressed or sorrowful I find myself sighing repeatedly.

I have no medical knowledge to back this up but I believe it may be due to a present need for extra oxygen.

Think about it, through self-talk we occasionally give ourselves good advice.

'Take deep breaths and count to three.'

Not too sure about the benefits of counting but it does help to stop and survey the situation.

I bring good news; one day sighing and sorrow will flee!

"So the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing shall flee away. I, even I, am He who comforts you (Isaiah 51:11-12a NKJ)."
