Turmoil Turns to Testimony
by PamFord Davis

With thankfulness, my heart swells with the realization of the Lord's bestowed blessings. Humbled, I know His bounty upon me is undeserved. When showered by His blessings it is easy to offer up prayers of praise and thanksgiving.

Do I selfishly limit His boundaries? Why not develop a commitment to daily praise and thank Him?

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (I Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJ)."

Unlimited thanksgiving will stretch me beyond my comfort zone. Yet, I perceive the potential of a greatly expanded witness. To be thankful, in everything that happens to me, is certainly not my natural response.

Apostle Paul was not encouraging Christians to thank God for everything, but 'in' everything. The evil and hardship we encounter are not sources of thankfulness; we face them with inner turmoil.

Turmoil turns to testimony whenever I reverently thank God.
