LEN'S LINES --A Little Religion On A Positive Note By Len Granger

There have been Christians over the centuries discussing what the Bible says about what the Lord taught about healing the sick. We see in Matthew 4:23-24, "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went through all Syria; and they brought unto him all sick people that where taken with divers diseases and torments, and those that were processed with devils, and those that were lunatick, and those that had palsy; and he healed them."

With all the multitudes of people seeking healing , the Lord saw the need for delegation of power. Math 10:1, " And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast out, and to heal all manner of sickness and every disease among the people" The Lord further instructed his Apostles , Math 10: 5-7," Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach saying. The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils, freely ye have received, freely give."

Our gracious and loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ tells his disciples and all believers in Math 9:37.38, " The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labors are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."

We also we read in Luke 7:22, " Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way and tell John what things ye have seen and heard, how that the blind see, the lamb walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the Gospel is preached. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me."

Our Lord soon after died on the cross shedding his precious saving blood , was buried, and rose again on the third day. that we as sinners both Gentiles and Jewish might be saved. While Jesus was on the earth for a few short years, he healed the sick in the areas he walked while preaching to the lost. Today our Lord hears our prayers and if it is his will provides us with Physical Blessings, Material Blessing And Spiritual Blessings. Matt; 21-22," And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

The Lord's healing is very vast reaching Christians all over the world, as we try to walk by his side and spread the Gospel to the lost world. Yes, the Lord answers our cry for healing of our sickness and those that believe in the Lord can tell of his healing power. However, as with Apostle Paul who wrote of his infirmity, our Lord may wish to not heal a medical problem we may have, as he knows what is best for us until the Lord calls us home.

A Christian today has the right to ask our gracious and loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the healing of any sickness. He may choose to heal in order to accomplish some purpose he has for us and to show his glory. But he is under no obligation to heal our earthly physical body which we will lay in the grave after a few years. The Lord provides his believers a heavenly home that we will have for eternity and what a great day that will be.

Trust we all will be in the church of our choice on Sunday worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

God Bless America
