The Lord Hears Our Prayers

LEN'S LINES --- A Little Religion On A Positive Note By Len Granger

This year in northern California, we find ourselves in the third year of drought conditions that have an effect on everyone. It is especially difficult for farmers and businesses connected with fishing, as the lakes and rivers are at the lowest levels in years. Since I have been in the wholesale fishing tackle business as a wagon jobber for over forty- five years, I have never seen fishing tackle stores so discouraged with lack of customers and the demand for fishing tackle. As their supplier, I have reduced the delivery trips and have a large supply of production materials on hand for the tackle items that are hand assembled.

My wife and I discussed our situation for our small business and agreed our Lord will take care of our needs. The Bible God's Word tells us in Philippians 4:19." But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

During my afternoon nap on Wednesday the phone rang and it was one of my long time fishing tackle customers. He said, get a pen and paper, as I have a large order for your custom make tackle and need it as soon as possible. It was a tremendous order and a real blessing, however, the hours to get the items assembled would normally take me several days of hand work. It would mean printing custom labels for the store, making the items which require dozen of hand movements and crimping wire connections for each rig assembled. I estimated the man hours needed would exceed over 30 hours and at age 82 years young, my hands begin to pain after a couple hours of work.

So, I began the project thanking our gracious and loving Lord in the process. When it was time to go to the Wednesday night prayer meeting at our church, I stopped the work and attended the service. We sang and praised the Lord with our Bible study; then we had a prayer meeting. On arriving home. I went to bed early as tomorrow would be a continuous day of assembly work, far exceeding my normal days work.

At 8:30 AM, I began a full days work and things were going better then I had expected with a couple short rest periods during the day to protect my hands. I estimated that by 10PM the large order would be completed, if all went well. Around 6PM my back began to feel a pain on the right side but that did not stop me, However, by 7:30 PM it had become severe and I told my wife I would have to stop till tomorrow but I was going relax in my working chair and say a prayer. This I did and then asked our Lord if it was his will to take away the pain. In just a manner of a few minutes the back pain was gone and I adjusted my chair to continual the project. It was completed before 10PM and the pain was gone in my back and hands felt great.

During the night, I felt no pain in my body and the next morning felt wonderful as we delivered the fishing tackle order and made the 70 mile round trip. The Lord had really blessed us as he said he would.

Trust this Sunday we will all be in the church of our choice worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

God Bless America
