Man
by Mark Heatherly

We think we are what we think we are.

But in reality, a man is as a man does.

A man is what a man says.

Many a man proclaims his loyalty, but a trustworthy man who can find ?

When a man reproaches another, does he not reproach his maker ?

What can it be that causes this to be ?

How can a man spurn another who is just like he ?

How can man not see his brother is just like he ?

Is it not his own iniquities that dull the senses so ?

It is a poison deep within, which says I am but you are not.

It is pride which dulls the heart & dulls the mind.

It dulls the eyes so man can't see.

It is himself in reality.

We look in a mirror when we observe another.

Are we not like he ?

It is the sting of the snake which poisons the man.

To make him think like others I cannot be.

The cure is found in the physicians hands.

Hands of the maker become like man.

He died that we might live & see.

That self is the enemy.

When self is removed like scales from the eyes, then we shall see.

God made us, you & me to be just like He.

When once we may glimpse past self, and see through on the other side.

We shall see the beauty of our maker in you & me.

It is love which causes us to see, what pride cause us to be.

It is love come down from heaven.

It purges this pride, the poison within.

For the whole of man is wholly corrupt.

It becomes the man to walk in sympathy one with another.

It is humility you see, that becomes us.

These are the eyes of truth through which we may see, as the Lord our God intended it to be.

I make my writings available to all, but I would very much like to hear from those who have questions or comments or are built up & enriched & also from those who wish to use my writings for reprint.
