Wisdom
by Mark Heatherly

Where is wisdom, understanding & discretion ?

All day long I walk & stumble.

Over what, I cannot see.

Why cannot I perceive nor discern ?

I strive to call up wisdom from within but it is not there.

It constantly eludes my own apprehension.

I know it exists for I sense it's being.

I see it plainly in the heavens above, in the sun & moon & stars.

I detect it in the world below in the life of plants & animals & men.

I know also it exists beautifully in the spirit realm in resurrection life.

Yet try as I might, I cannot touch it or grasp it with my natural facilities.

It's scope, it's source lies outside of me, outside of man.

But blessed is the man of understanding.

For he has fully conceded that all wisdom, knowledge, power & discretion are not to be found within.

The man of understanding says,"Who can bring Christ down & who can bring Him up again" & again " Do not be wise in your own eyes ; fear the Lord & He will make your paths straight, He will impart to you true wisdom, knowledge & discretions. It is His alone".

So then, the beginning of knowledge is the fear of the Lord.

Indeed He has shut up all men in sin.

He has withheld wisdom from all.

The man who has lost all faith & trust in himself, he is the one whom the Lord may trust to impart of Himself.

We must purchase from Him pure gold.

This wisdom & none other leads men to their salvation.

For just as He gives life to all things, so too, does He provide light for the eyes to see & the path for which to walk securely.

Just as the man does not have life within himself, neither does he have the way or the truth.

God has made this available to all who seek Him through His provision; Jesus Christ; the way , the truth & the life.

I make my writings available to all, but I would very much like to hear from those who have questions or comments or are built up & enriched & also from those who wish to use my writings for reprint.
