Child-like Trust
by Jada V

With my Godson at his 3rd birthday party, we were walking amongst the rides and the games, and his obedient trust in me led me to reflect on the concept of child-like trust. The way my God-son trusted me and did what I said and went in the direction I said, is how I am to trust God. Whatever He says to do or where He leads, I must follow. How is your trust walk with God? Do you have that obedient trust that God desires us to have? When we hear His voice, we are to immediately respond by doing what He said to do. In our obedient trust to Him, God's will is completed and we are the instruments He desires to use, but it only comes through obedience.

I remember a time when I was driving down the street and I passed a lady standing along the street. I clearly heard the voice of God saying "Go back." I respond by saying "what, I am not to pick up a stranger that is unsafe." I heard the voice again say "Go back." I turned the car around and went back to where the lady was and while turning on the side street, I looked at the lady. I turned the car around and was at the intersection and I looked at the lady again. At that instant, we both looked at each other and recognized each other. She was a former student of mine needing a ride and in His sovereign plan, I was the resource He used to meet her need. I echo Paul as he stated in Acts 21:13 (Message), "the issue in Jerusalem is not what they do to me, whether arrest me or murder me, but what the Master Jesus does through my obedience."

Child-like trust is 'no questions asked' trust.
Child-like trust is 'immediate response' trust.
Child-like trust is 'no second thoughts' trust.
Child-like trust is 'I know you have my best interest' trust.
Child-like trust is 'my life is in your hands' trust.
Child-like trust is 'simple' trust.
Child-like trust is 'despite how it looks' trust.

Jesus said "I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven."

Matthew18:3 (NLT)
