Nature's Metaphors
by Nicholas Lewis

The Rolling and Crashing thunder shakes the earth from under.

So as His righteous judgment crushes those who plunder.

The slow approach of winter gives warning to the coming snow.

So as His long-suffering gives heed to those below.

The sparkling rainbow arches over the earthy green and blue sphere.

So as His mercy covers us, reminding us we are still here.

The soft mists and sprays of April showers come upon each flower.

So as His kindness to the poor and lost who he saves by His mighty power.

The trees of winter which spring from death and bloom in the election.

So as His Son who was love, mercy, kindness fulfilled by the resurrection.

My name is Nicholas Lewis and am currently studying to be a biblical counselor at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and am also helping jumpstart a youth group at a local church. My hope is to also someday become a published Christian writer. Email: five [email protected]
