Know Your Own Body
by PamFord Davis

'Know your own body.'

Health professions tout the advice above. They do not infer that an obsession with how we look before a full-length mirror is to be encouraged. On the contrary, they persuade us to steer away from vanity and look deeper.

A closer examination of our bodies might alert us to sudden changes, abnormalities such as lumps or suspect melanoma moles. Early warnings very well might save our lives. Cancer, if discovered in the early stages is often curable.

We are wise to follow the 'Know your own body' rule. To know our own hearts is in the realm of soul searching. The LORD is the Great Physician and his Holy Spirit reveals sin and separation from God.

The lost individual needs to address their spiritual condition immediately.

"Examine yourselves, as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know
yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?unless indeed you are disqualified. But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified (2 Corinthians 13:5-6 NKJ)."
