Mind Awhirl
by PamFord Davis

It's late at night

My mind is awhirl. Wouldn't it be nice if our brains were like alarm clocks? Then, I could compress the alarm button to the off position.

Maybe, I am excited about an upcoming trip or trying to find an idea for a writing entry. At any rate, I am wide-eyed and my husband's snore cycle is wide-open.

The whole sleeping routine is fascinating. It if you haven't given it much thought, you might want to mull it over some sleepless night.

The Creator gives our well-tuned bodies a shutdown period, preferably at night. It gives us time of renewal, a recharging of our battery so to speak.

One second I am wide-awake; the next I am out like a light. Anxiety delays lights out!

"When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, thy consolations delight my soul (Psalms 94:19 NAS)."

consolation: n. comfort; solace [Webster's New World Dictionary]
