Care Bears
by PamFord Davis

I live in bear country. Just had a Chittenango high school flashback; go bears go!

Now a return to the present, there is a large bear population in Northeast Louisiana. Travelers on nearby I-20 might be surprised to see posted signs, warning of black bears. My husband has had several bear sightings in our area, one as close as the edge of a wooded area bordering our gourd patch. It made for interesting conversation at the West Carroll Senior Center!

Mom had a small collection of knickknack Care Bears. She is no longer living but I help keep her memory alive by keeping one of her Care Bears here in my computer space. Bears not only occupy landscape or shelves; caring Christians use them for embracing. Bear hugs become heartfelt demonstrations of our love for others and reminders to be burden bearers.

"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2 NKJ)."
