Scripture Passage: Exodus 16:11-20
Not Everyone Will Hearken to the Leader Every Time
When the children of Israel complained of hunger, God told Moses that He would send them food; flesh in the evening and bread in the morning. They were instructed to take only what they could eat and not leave any of it until morning but the Bible says, "Notwithstanding, they hearkened not unto Moses, but some of them left of it until the morning."
The lesson here is this; all of the people will not obey all of the time and the leader who expects complete obedience all of the time from his followers, is deluded. No matter how wonderful the leader is, he will have some followers who will disobey his instructions sometimes. This is not always a reflection on the leader, therefore, don't beat yourself up.
Prayer: Father, show me how to handle acts of disobedience in those I lead.
