Pastor Describes Different Ways God Meets Needs
by Greg Miller

Pastor Leroy enjoyed preaching about Gods provision.

The Lord blesses abundantly! Pastor Leroy declared. And He wants to share His bountiful abundance with us!

In Philippians 4:19, the Apostle Paul tells the Church in Philippi, But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

God tells in Psalms 50:10, For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. God also owns all the valleys between the hills, as well as the silver, gold, copper and all the minerals and precious metals under the ground.

Pastor Leroy reminded his parishioners of the promise in Deuteronomy 8:18. But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. God made this promise to His chosen people, Israel, but I believe it is also applicable to us today.

Pastor Leroy added, God does not confine Himself to a box when it comes to meeting our needs.

The pastor shared how God met a need in his life. I needed to pay 1,000 dollars in bills within four weeks, he recalled. I had few resources. I prayed, Father, what am I going to do?

He told me to go to the mailbox, which I did. I received a letter from a former employer with an overdue Christmas bonus of 1,000 dollars. Months later, I urgently needed 5,000 dollars, so I didnt pray. I just automatically went to the mailbox. Ouch! There was no 5,000 dollar check!

God said, Why didnt you call on me for help?

The mailbox approach is what you used the last time, so I figured thats how youd always do it.

For the 5,000 need, however, God had a different plan, Pastor Leroy recalled. The Lord said, You have a huge collection of baseball cards. Tonight, a man will knock on your door to buy them. He will give you 6,000 dollars for your cards.

But, Lord, my cards are worth more than 50 thousand dollars.

But no ones been beating down your door to buy them.

So why is this guy giving me 6,000 dollars. I only need 5,000 dollars.

Because in a month, youre going to need 900 dollars for car repair. So Im providing the money for that expense ahead of time! Youll even have a little left over for gasoline!
