The Undressing
by Jennifer Champion

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever. (Psalm 30:11-12 NIV)

David spoke these words in dedication of the temple; it is a song of praise and gratefulness. When I read these words, it resonated with me deeply about my own life. My life used to be dark like sackcloth. It was coarse and depressing. I felt like I was covered up and smothering. Then, it happened; I turned my life over to Him and He removed the cover. He replaced it with an awesome light called Joy! No, I cannot be silent anymore for I must go into the world and tell others about where I have been and where I am now and that it is all due to the mercy and grace of God. I thank Him every day for everything. Some days, it is not easy to thank the Lord when something bad has happened but it is necessary because He always works for the good and I am to trust Him.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for all that you do for me day in and day out. Thank you for the things in this life that I have struggled through to get to You. You are amazing and changed my life. I pray that others reading this will turn their life over to you in this moment. Amen.
