The Commitment
by Shari Weigerstorfer

Softly, the Master said:

Do you remember when I called you? I remember it well. You had just given Me your heart.

I fell in love with you then. I committed Myself to you then. I would make something of your lifesomething beautiful, something to celebrate, something grand. Even though at that moment, I knew the choices you would make and the suffering you would go through because of them. I heard you in the future, calling out My name in repentance. Regretting ever leaving the fellowship we had begun.

I knew all you would go through at the moment you gave your life to Me, and I committed to stay with you through it all. To cry when you cried. To wipe your tears. To heal your heart. To restore your trust and build your life again. This is what I promised when you committed your life to Me.

I called you by name. A name I had chosen for you; not yourself and not your parents. I chose the name I called you based on what I would make of you. I called you what you would become, and with that, the transformation began. When I renamed you, it was a commitment.

I anointed you. I made you special to Me, which gave you privileges and problems. It separated you to Meand away from others. Seeing it this way will allow you to see your past differently, if you try. There is healing in this process.

Accept your past as past. Give it to Me. I will gladly take it from you, so you never have to feel its weight again. It is in me that the sins of the world are absorbed.

I take your past gladly. With it, I will also take the guilt and regret. I feel it as you do. You don't have to explain it all again. I was there when you repented, remember? I forgave you then, and I've worked with you to try to get you to forgive yourself. It's an ongoing process, and we will continue.

Come to Me. Spend time with Me. Get to know Me. Worship will transform your life. Ministry flows out of this, but ministry to others is not what your passion should be. You were created for Me and intimacy is what I'm calling you to.

I've committed Myself to youfor all eternity.

Come to Me, my love.
