Mini-devotion for Thursday, June 4, 2015

Mini-devotion for Thursday, June 4, 2015, Psalm 147:1, KJV, "Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely." It is important for each of us as believers to praise the Lord. Praise here means to make a show, to boast, to be foolish, to celebrate, to glory. Do we make a show (in a good way) of our love for the Lord? Are we foolish in that pursuit? Let me say thisIf we go to a sporting event, when someone hits a home run, scores a touchdown, etc., don't we rejoice (get beside ourselves with excitement)? Should we not be more than just a bit excited when we think of everything God has given to us and done for us? Shouldn't we rejoice to the point we are continually, happily and joyfully praising the Lord? The Scripture tells us we are to sing to the Lord, to celebrate Him. Praise, we're told here, is pleasant. Praise is delightfulit is sweet. Praise is comely. It is beautiful, seemly and suitable. Today, may our lives be actively involved in the pursuit of praising the Lord!
