Not the Caffeine
by PamFord Davis

Words of advice from parents in the good old days:

"No, you cannot drink coffee; it'll stunt your growth!"

Parents of some children in my neighborhood did not even permit their youngsters to drink iced tea.

My parents were more lenient; at an early age, I drank coffee flavored milk in my treasured Hopalong Cassidy mug. Did it stunt my growth? I measure five feet in stature but attribute that to heredity, not to caffeine.

I heed God's warnings about avoiding anything that stunts my growth. I want to grow up into the fullness of Christ.

"And He personally gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God's Son, [growing] into a mature man with a stature measured by Christ's fullness (Ephesians 11-13 HCS)."
