Peace
by Cyril Almond 11. Make it your ambition to lead a quite life. To mind your own business and to work with your hands. Just as we told you. 12. So that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders. Thessalonians 11-12 That you will not be dependent on anybody. Now that is a verse that would apply to the Thessalonians in that day and age. Now let us move this on a bit. And look at it from our point of view in this day and age. Make it your ambition is quite a sweeping statement. To have ambition means to have a hunger for success. What about a quite life, in this modern fast paced life of ours. Now what would that mean to us today. What about the stress that comes with modern day life and all its challenges. It means to have that peace that passes all understanding. Oh yes you say you do not have my life. Many a person thought that when this was said. In Psalm 34 verse 14 we are encouraged to seek peace and pursue it. Go for it is said about something today. Whichever way you look at it. Peace has to be looked for. ! Timothy 2. verse 2. tells us to lead a quite and peaceful life. So what peace are we talking about?. The peace of our lord Jesus. We have to seek this and pursue it, this is a peace that we can have inside of us. The Holy Trinity lives inside of us. So how do we seek? In prayer and meditating on the word of God. Wanting that peace so much, that we will not be satisfied until we get it. When we realize that we have that Holy Trinity living inside of us. Then we stop asking from the outside and start asking inwards. Where does the Holy Spirit well up from? inside of us and he will fill us from the top of our heads to the sole of our feet!. Then that peace and quite life will begin from the inside. Like anything precious you seek to keep it and hold on to it. When that happens all hell can be let loose and we shall keep our peace.
