Putting On the Armor Daily
by Sharon McDill

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:10-11)

Our world is in a new season, and we are shifting from the old wineskin to the new wineskin. Trials and tribulations challenge us more than ever, and God has provided us with the Bible and the spiritual armor within it to wear everyday for wisdom, protection, and peace. Each morning it is imperative that we pray into this armor of power, authority and security offered by our Lord.

Do we dare go to the beach without protection? We need a cap to protect our head, sun glasses to see clearly, and sun screen to block harmful rays. Sandals will navigate us through hot sand, a towel will dry the sticky salt water, and fresh water will hydrate our body. At the beach we are guarding ourselves against the sun and heat, but more importantly, the spiritual armor guards against Satan's strategies that target us each day wherever we are. God's armor includes a helmet, breastplate, belt, shoes, sword, and shield of faith. These weapons expose the enemy's lies, protect us from evil, and provide wisdom, truth, and righteousness.

Each day as we dress and brush our teeth to prepare physically, let us also pray and dress in the Lord's armor to prepare spiritually. Relationship with the Lord on a daily basis arms us with the strength and power of His might, so that we might experience His peace and joy not only to overcome the trials but also to live out the purpose He has designed for us.

Thank you, Lord for covering us today in your grace, strength, and power. Amen.
