Hindrances To Your Securing Gainful Employment (1)
by Olawale Ogunsola

Rates of unemployment is growing at a very alarming one. In many nations, it has grown out of control. This evil has given birth to other evil acts or crimes in various forms. Most of the time, governments are held responsible; and many of them are guilty of negligence indeed.

In many cases, government may not be able to employ every citizen of her country but every government has the task of creating an enabling environment conducive enough to generate employment opportunities.

On the other hand, a lot also fall on the unemployed person. That is why I want to mention some hindrances to certain people's employment opportunity.

Before I do this, let me give you this "emotional injection" to provoke you into taking an immediate, serious and Godly steps towards ending your unemployment problem. Do you eat daily? Do you eat at all even if not daily? If you do, it is a mistake because
"If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat." 2 Thessalonians 3:10b. NKJV.

Going by what Apostle Paul wrote in the above verse, do not eat until you work! Now, let us consider those hindrances one by one.

Arrogance.
This comes up in various forms. Some people are unemployed because they are too big to take instructions from any boss. If such person secures a job today, within a few months, he is back in the labor market again.

Are you like this?

Certain people think they must be employed in a particular sector of the economy by all means. There are many reasons that sector may not be able to accommodate them now but they want to wait UNTIL there are vacancies. They want to remain unemployed, so far the sector is not ready to absorb them now.

Are you a member of this group? If yes, have a rethink!

Over evaluation of self.
I am not supporting "selling" yourself so cheap, but do not "overprice" yourself. Every tree grows from somewhere, eg a seed. You need to start somewhere also . The only job where you can start from the top is that of digging a well and such likes and when you do that, going down follows.

Do you want this? May you not go down forever in Jesus Name. So, do not over value yourself. Do you know that if you prove your worth, something bigger or better can come your way. Are you of great value?
"Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth;
A stranger, and not your own lips." Psalm 127:2. NKJV.

Let people see your value and say so!

Lack of Love.
This comes up in two ways and you must ask yourself two important questions. One, "Do I love my Maker with everything in me and everything I am?" "Do I love Him sincerely an unconditionally?"
The first step to loving is to love your Maker, God.

The second step is to love your neighbor as much as you love yourself. Your neighbor include those you meet daily who can enjoy God's kindness through you. Then ask yourself the second question, "Do I love others with the love of the Lord sincerely? Read Mark 12:30-31.

Loving the Lord, your Creator and other people around you is a strong key to open doors of employment opportunity. Let your love comfort others today; one of them may be a channel of blessing to you.

Lack of service.
Do you love to serve others? Service has strong power. If you want to serve others, you cannot be unemployed because there are people who need your service and are waiting for you to arise and act. This can be a free service or one with moderate fees. Your service has the power to shoot you to a level you never envisaged.

In Acts 6:1-6, Stephen, Philip and other five brethren did not know they would become Deacons but when the Gospel spread and the number of brethren increased, they were chosen because others knew them to be honest men who loved to serve them.

Are you ready to serve your generation? Employment opportunity is available.

However, if you are not ready for any service, forget about gainful and lasting employment. Therefore, be ready for meaningful service to get gainful job.

Please, read the remaining points in the second part of this piece.
Stay blessed and rapturable because the Lord is coming soon.
