Time has strengthened love's rein over my soul

and I know sweet love has lit up your spirit's darkness;

because before it was black as coal.

And as your light shines I sense a softening of your heart;

I can practically hear the bitterness breaking off

and see it smashing apart.

And funny how it makes me smile,

just knowing the sweetness of this love;

the joy it brings turns ordinary life

into one like in heaven above.

So many years we waited,

even suffered for love's sake,

finally we have oneness in vision;

strolling hand in hand,

aside our sparkling lake.

And as we stroll;

and stare at the lovely water;

watching the breezy ripple and wave,

we rejoice in the straight and narrow path before us,

that someday we will pave!
