We writers write things from our hearts, messages of comfort, of counsel, and of warning, of promise. We give instructions from Wisdom and the pages of Holy Script, but the best messages are written by our lives.

Messages written by our lives get indelibly engraved on human hearts. II Corinthians 3: 3

What message does my life inscribe on the hearts of those who know me?

Shamefully, I confess that after a life some would call a long life, I know that I have not written lovely messages all the time. Hopefully, there have been messages of beauty and love in some of my encounters.

I would love to counsel the young, and those who are growing old, to not be terse about time and perfection.

Even today the ugliest things that pour out of me are incited by being detained in my plans or with those who do not do it "right."

That is not to say that the Holy Spirit has not assisted me in conquering some of my insufficiencies and ugly spots; I do now deliberately see to being engaged as a doer, as well as a reader of the Word.

Let us all remember that while our short comings and strengths are being worked on by The Holy Spirit, so are other peoples being groomed as well.

We do not all have the same strengths or the same weaknesses, so let's be gentle with those caught in their weaknesses, as the Lord is gentle with us, as we learn to overcome our own dark spots.

Salvation is a work in progress: through our faith in Jesus we are saved from the penalty of sin; we are in the process of being perfected; we will be completely saved.

Amen!
