Change
by Tesse Wilson

Trends in culture may change. The norms of society may change. But God does not change. God's Word does not change, neither is God's Word subject to personal interpretation. God does not conform to our culture or trends. In fact, in scripture Paul speaking by inspiration of the Holy Spirit admonishes those of us who are disciples of Jesus Christ not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing our minds, so we will be able to be discern , determine and know the will of God.

God loves us, Oh yes He loves everybody, but this loving God has standards. His standards are righteous. All of His ways are pure and good. One must not manufacture their own ideas about God to suit their emotions, experiences, and lifestyle. Yes the law shows us our sin and we may feel guilty but grace, oh the grace of God so rich in mercy abounds where sin abounds. In the gospel/good news God offers forgivingness, cleansing, deliverance/freedom from the bondage and dominion of sin, relationship and future hope.

Our Christian duty never changes when the law changes. We must still speak the truth in love, for many souls are in jeopardy. We may be misunderstood, misinterpreted and accused of being hateful and discriminating against others. Paul said to Timothy endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. As Peter and the other apostles answered we too must answer -We must obey God rather than man.
Again, we must speak the truth in love, also be preachers of righteousness and living epistles of Christ.

Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:11 NLT

Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:25 NIV
