The Return Trip
by PamFord Davis Are you contemplating a trip back to the old home-place? There is something very special about a return trip to the home of our roots. In many cases, the homes where we grew up are no longer there. They do not occupy space on a literal lot; yet, they stand firm in our memories. God the Father says to return. He is our home-place. "Therefore say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts; 'Return to Me,' says the LORD of hosts, 'and I will return to you,' says the LORD of hosts (Zechariah 1:3 NKJ)." The return trip is a journey through repentance. "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9 NKJ)."
