What Do You Want More Of?
by Annagail Lynes

For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. - Romans 6:14

Sin shall not have dominion over you.

How many times do you sin in a day? How many times does a curse word slip? Or you get angry, or short, with a co-worker? It stands to reason that of all the laws set down in the Bible that you are missing it, sinning, without even realizing it.

And yet on our sin is not where God wants us to focus.

The more we try to stop sinning, stop an addiction, the more we end up doing that thing.

Therefore, the answer is to change our focus.

Instead of focusing on how we are missing it, how we are sinning, God wants us to focus on the Solution He provided for us.

He wants us to focus on being the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (II Corinthians 5:21).

At the Cross, Jesus took all our bad--our sin, our guilt, our pain, our sorrow--and gave us His good--His righteousness, His right standing with God.

No matter what we have done or will do in our lives, we are forgiven. Jesus took full wrath and punishment for our sins at that Cross. Therefore our sins have already been judged.

Now we are in right standing with God. Not because of us but because of what Jesus did at the Cross.

That's where we need to put our focus.

Whatever we focus on will happen in our lives.

Do you want more sin in your life? Or more righteousness and right believing in your life? The choice is yours.
