Say Ah
by PamFord Davis

'Open wide, say Ah!'

I have a flash back to the office of our family doctor. The room is cold and reeks of rubbing alcohol. Concerned, my Mom hovers over me and waits for a diagnosis. The doctor shines his pen sized light into my mouth, holds a wooden tongue depressor inside, and repeats his instructions

'Say Ah!'

I am delighted to see an 'Ah' in a prayer by Prophet Jeremiah.

"I prayed unto the LORD, saying, Ah Lord GOD! Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth, by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee. Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name (Jeremiah 32:16b-18 KJV)."

I say, 'Ah!'
