The High Way
by PamFord Davis

Why pretend? I like to get my way. Mom and Dad catered to my whims. When I was old enough to voice my objections to not getting my way, body language spoke for me. Pam pouted. I still want my way.

Renditions of 'My Way' by Frank Sinatra and Elvis fared well on record charts. Its message does not meet God's standards of humility. I recognize warning signs; veer off my way and onto the 'high' way.

"And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein (Isaiah 35:8 KJV)."

Followers of the way do not detour.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6 KJV)."

Pam trusts him to lead the way
