Stoke the Fires
by PamFord Davis It is hard to transition from heat warning advisories of our Deep South summer to the coming onset of winter. True, autumn only recently had its red-letter day on calendars but that can be misleading. In many instances, frigid winter weather arrives long before our calendars make it official. Locally, residents have already had a brief taste of north winds and jackets weather. We needed both our heater and ac during the same 24-hour period. Stoke the fires! "Then I said, 'I will not make mention of Him, nor speak anymore in His name.'
