Have Favor?
by Annagail Lynes

For they [God's people] did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favored them. - Psalm 44:3

Did you know that you are favored by God?

If you listen to some people, you have to earn your blessings from God.

Others say that God only favored those of Jewish descendant.

I submit to you today that the moment you accepted Christ, God favored you as well. You were engrafted into the family of God.

What does it mean to be favored of God?

Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines favor as preference for one person, group, etc., over another, friendly regard shown toward another especially by a superior, gracious kindness, a special privilege or right granted or conceded, in one's good graces, to one's advantage.

When we are favored of God, He does special things for us and turns things around to our advantage.

Although God always has our best interest at heart, even when we were sinners, but now that we are under grace, He wants to favor us. He wants to turn our lives around to our advantage, to turn things around for our good (Romans 8:28).

Most of us Believers still see God as mean, ready to hit us over the head if we do wrong.

Only when God sees us now, He doesn't see our sin, our filth, our past. He sees Jesus. He sees Jesus sacrifice, His blood shed to atone for all our sins--past, present and future (2 Corinthians 5:21).

We are in God's good graces---once and for all.

Think about it: if we didn't earn our salvation through good works, then how can we lose it through bad?

You and all our brothers and sisters in Christ are favored by God because of Jesus. Plain and simple.

Therefore we must believe it.

We will see more of the favor of God in your life when you believe we are favored of God.

We will see more of the love of God in your life when you believe we are loved of God.

What we believe, we will see happen in our lives.

There is real power in believing.

All things are possible for one who believes (Mark 9:23 ESV).

In the comments, tell us about a time you felt favored of God.
