Have You Missed It?
by Annagail Lynes

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. - 1 Corinthians 2:9

God has so much more prepared for us than what we can see with our eyes, that we can see from our limited perspective.

Right now, life may seem dull. It might seem as if mundane things, such as working to put food on the table and pay the bills, consumes your life.

I am single. I have no children. I have no husband.

I can't have real social life although I have tried because I have a job that consumes my time and effort. I became too good at it, and, therefore, I am the driving force behind our pharmacy. Others' words. Not mine.

Only I have others things I want to do with my life. Things that I feel God has called me to like writing, teaching and adopting.

I know that there is a lot more that God has prepared for me to do. I know that I am still of use to God.

He has a plan and a purpose for each of our lives that is beyond anything we could hope for, ask or desire (Ephesians 3:20).

I don't know about you, but I often times have wondered if I've missed it.

I have often thought that I have missed God's plans for my life...or that I would never make it to them because life has a way of bogging us down in the details.

Job 42:2 (NIV) says, "I know that You can do all things; no purpose of Yours can be thwarted."

What I have come to realize is that as long as we surrender ourselves to God, as long as we turn everything over to Him, His plans will prevail in our lives (Psalm 19:21). His plans will come to pass.

It is that simple act of surrendering our will, our thoughts, our plans, our everything, to God that puts everything right where it should be--in God's hands.

From there, it is our job only to believe that His plans for our lives will come to pass...and will be better than we ever imagined they could be.

God will take us places we never dreamed possible and cause us to do things we never thought we could.

God only requires that simple act of surrendering all to Him.

Question for today: What is the biggest thing you are surrendering to God today?
