Got Love?
by Annagail Lynes

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. - I John 4:18

Perfect love. Whose love is perfect? Certainly not mine. Certainly not yours.

We, as human beings, no matter how hard we try, love conditionally. We like to think that we can love without conditions, but no one can love perfectly.

No one that is but God.

He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

For the longest time, I believed that this was talking about our love not being perfect enough, that our love for others, that our love for God, wasn't perfect enough.

Only this Scripture isn't talking about that at all.

At the core of this Scripture, it is talking about us not knowing how much we are loved by God.

It is when we know how much God loves us, when we believe that He loves us, that our fears start to dissipate.

God is on our side. He loves us and wants what is best for us. Only we put conditions on God's love.

God can't love me because I have done this, or He can't love because I am a woman, I am ethic, I am a hot mess. We can make excuses for why God can't love us, but the truth is that He does...without conditions.

We are never going to reach the place where God doesn't love us...or have a plan for our lives. Never. Ever.

Today meditate on that concept. Meditate on Scriptures about God's love. Ask God to make His love so real to you.

It is when we soak up God's love, that we meditate on His love for us, that our fears dissipate.

Write in the comments below the fears that are stopping you from moving on in life today.
