Show Me!
by PamFord Davis

Are you good at following directions? Let's say you are looking for an address in unfamiliar territory You stop to ask for directions. A local speedily spiels off directions as long as the interstate you exited; frantically, you search for a pen and scrap of paper.

Did God bless you with instant recall or would you ask the one giving directions to slow down, go back to the beginning, and give you time to write the directions?

My scenario: A Good Samaritan understands my plight. With empathy, he or she drives ahead of me in their vehicle, showing me the way. I readily admit that I am not good at following directions. I have a 'show me state' of mind.

"But someone will say, 'You have faith, and I have works.' Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believeand tremble (James 2:18-19 NKJ)."
