The State of the Solution
by Jennifer Champion

Our world is in a state of chaos; ISIS is killing people in every country and people are scared. Social networks are full of people making comments about what they would do if they could to end the war raging around the globe. Politicians are spewing words of resolution that are in conflict with other figureheads and world leaders. I am not a politician not am I the general of some army. I do not hold a Phd or Nobel Prize. However, I am a Christian and I seek the bible, God's holy word for guidance in all areas of my life.

Let's first look at what the bible reveals about war:

War is going to occur.

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. (Matthew 24:6)

This verse is tells us not to be alarmed when we hear of war because it has to take place. Realistically, it is hard not to be alarmed when you hear of bombings, mass murders and terror. This is the world we live in and it is going to take place regardless. We have to remember though that this battle is not the final one. ISIS will not win.

War is a spiritual battle.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.(2 Corinthians 10:4)

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.(Ephesians 6:12)

The true war that is raging around us is not just with ISIS or any other man or assembly of men; it is much more. It is a spiritual battle and in order to battle effectively, one must be prepared spiritually.

War should be fought spiritually and individually first.

Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11)

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

In order to fight the true battle which is against the invisible forces on this earth one must be prepared. Every day upon wakening, take up the bible in hand. Ready it, devour it, and learn it. Take it with you everywhere. Talk to God. Prayer is a direct line of communication with the Lord, the creator of all the universe and everything in it. He listens to each and every prayer. Walk every day with your head held high; walk in truth and honor. Live a righteous life and defend the word of God. Seek Jesus Christ and confess your sins to Him. Ask Him to come into your life and make a radical change in it. Suit up every day with the full armor of God. Mankind will be able to win battles in the real world such as those with ISIS if they first seek God and fight the spiritual battles around them. We should not go into a battle with ISIS or any other terror group without first seeking God and fighting our spirituals battles first.

I would love to turn the television on one day or see in my news feed on Facebook that all world leaders that are against what ISIS is doing got together to have a meeting. Their meeting began with prayer. They each came with a bible in hand and lifted up their concern to the Lord.

I would love to see a President elected that opens his bible up before every decision that he needs to make and doesn't back down because of the threats of liberals and those that do not believe in the power of God.

So, what is the solution to beating ISIS or any other terror group? Is it dropping bombs on a foreign land and taking with ISIS, innocent people? Is it shutting down borders and keeping people out? Is it putting refugees on an island to themselves?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)

Trust in God. Seek Him. Do not follow the advice of the Dalai Lama and cease praying. Instead, pray harder and more often. Never stop praying. The Lord will take care of ISIS and He will do it through man. He will appoint the right people to take out the enemy. Do not fear.

For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, "Fear not, I am the one who helps you." (Isaiah 41:13)
