New Year--- New Faith
by Leonard Granger

The arrival of the New Year is an event that most people look forward to every year. We have all said, "With the coming of the New Year I will do this or that." But often we forget about our promise of doing something as we have gotten stuck along the way and never finish the task. It may have been an evil habit of the flesh that we knew was not good for our body; however, here it is the New Year and we do not have the power and faith to change our lifestyle. Whatever the task we said was our goal for the New Year, whether it be big or small, there is help available to put us on the right road to accomplish it.

If we rely on ourselves to make the changes, it is impossible, but when we look to our gracious and loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ his help is readily available if we ask for it. Mathew 21:22, " And all things, whatsoever, ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Faith and prayer is very powerful and Christians know the verse 2 Corinthians 5:7, " For we walk by faith, not by sight."

It has been said over the years, by those in our society who know the LORD, the following statement, " According to your faith be it unto you." Our faith in the Lord is a very good measure of what we get out of life. The man of weak faith gets little; the man of mighty faith gets much.

It is easy to say, " I can do it", and rely on our ourselves, but it is so much better to rely on the Lord. If we praise and honor Christ. we will be flooded with material, physical, and spiritual blessings that we never dreamed possible in our life here on the earth.

If we ask the Lord to come into our life, repent of our sins, and put our faith, hope, and trust in Him, we will find the coming New Year will be the year we will long remember. Having a home with our Lord for eternity, we will never need to make any New Years resolutions.
