It's Over
by PamFord Davis

The party's over.

I can only imagine what it was like to fellowship with Jesus during the three years of his public ministry. The disciples feasted upon God's word and followed in His steps.

Sadly, many good things come to an abrupt end

"Then they said to Him, 'Why do the disciples of John fast often and make prayers, and likewise those of the Pharisees, but Yours eat and drink?' And He said to them, 'Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast in those days (Luke 5:33-35 NKJ)."

In the immediate days following Jesus crucifixion, His family and disciples grieved. It seemed their hopes for God's coming kingdom were over.

The best is yet to come!

"And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, 'Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.' And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, 'Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' And he said to me, 'These are the true sayings of God (Revelation 19:6-9 NKJ)."
