Implosion
by PamFord Davis Recently I saw a post on facebook; detailing a planned implosion of the NY State Fairgrounds grandstand. Big deal? Yes, I have sat in those bleachers. Two lifetime friends met at the state fair and are celebrating 48 years of marital bliss. No, I did not grieve the loss of a grandstand; yet, I was saddened to learn of its implosion. I live under the banner of Baby Boomer. Memories of Russian leader Nikita Khrushchev have surfaced. I took part in school 'Duck and Cover' drills. He predicted America's fall from within. "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:8 KJV)." Patriotic pride is admirable but without trust in God we will surely fall.
